Les installations spectaculaires de cette artiste japonaise, née en 1972 à Osaka et vivant depuis 1996 à Berlin, sont des art performance accumulant de vieux objets de la vie quotidienne, lui permettant d’explorer les relations entre passé et présent, souvenir et oubli, rêve et sommeil.

Ses œuvres emmènent le spectateur dans des environnements poétiques, parfois oniriques par l’ajout d’un tissage de cordelettes noires, plus rarement rouges, suggérant le cocon. "Les fils sont tissés l'un dans l'autre. Ils s'enchevêtrent. Ils se déchirent. Ils se dénouent. Ils sont comme un miroir des sentiments" écrit l'artiste. 

La simplicité des matériaux, les tissages en toiles d’araignées, la mise en scène contribuent à des installations troublantes, dont l’impact sur le spectateur lui procure diverses sensations, dérangeantes ou fascinantes.

Après une exposition très remarquée en 2011 à Maison Rouge, l'artiste revient exposer à Paris, à la Galerie Daniel Templon, du 7 janvier au 18 février 2012 [1].

The spectacular installations of this Japanese artist, born in 1972 in Osaka and living since 1996 in Berlin, her art performances are accumulating old objects of the everyday life allowing her to investigate the relations between past and present, memory and forgetting, dream and sleep.

Her works take the spectator in poetic, sometimes dreamlike environments by the addition of a weaving of black cords, more rarely red, suggesting the cocoon. " The threads are weaved the one in the other one. They become muddled. They tear. They come loose. They are as a mirror of the feelings " written Chiharu Shiota.

The simplicity of materials, the weavings in cobwebs contribute to particular installations, which impact on the spectator gets diverse sensations, disturbing or fascinating.

After an very noticed exhibition  in 2011 at the Maison Rouge, the artist expose again in Paris at the Daniel Templon Gallery, from January 7th till February 18th, 2012.
